It is a toy dream come true for twelve lucky youngsters, who have won the opportunity to raid the shelves of their favourite toy store in the Nickelodeon and Toys R Us Toy Sprint.

Securing the coveted spots ahead of scores of entrants, the finalists of the hotly-contested competition will put their speed to the test at Toys R Us stores in a race against the clock – their goal… to scoop as many toys as they can in 60 seconds.

Singabakho Dube (12), Vanya Adelaide Hollenbach (7), Nicholis Nieuwoudt (8) and Keagan Eric Wilkinson (7) were the first contenders to dash through the aisles of Toys R Us Canal Walk in Cape Town on 5 July.

The toy enthusiasts filled their trolleys with their favourite toys- including Lego, Playstation, Leap Frog and other popular brands- in the hope of sprinting their way into the next round of the competition.

The Johannesburg and Durban heats will take place on 12 July, 2017 at Toys R Us Boksburg and 19 July, 2017 at Toys R Us Gateway.

The events are open to the public, giving fans the opportunity to enjoy a sneak-peak into the action.

“We are overwhelmed by the incredible response to the competition and can't wait to make all our finalists’ dreams of running through their favourite toy store a reality,” says Nicole Annells, Marketing Manager, Toys R Us and Babies R Us South Africa.

The winners of the Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg sprints will then go head-to-head in an online video battle determined by public vote to claim the ultimate prize - an all-expenses paid trip for four to the Nickelodeon Hotels & Resort Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
