Good behaviour will reap great rewards for South African scholars following the annual Toys R Us South Africa “TRUper” competition, which aims to highlight the importance of carrying out good deeds.

Through the exciting competition, aspirant children from 29 participating schools across the country will be acknowledged and rewarded for simply displaying good etiquette.

To stand a chance to claim the title of Toys R Us SA “TRPUper”, the competition invites teachers to nominate a schoolmate, who exhibits exemplary qualities and is recognised as a role model by his or her peers. The competition, which kicks off on November, will see each school select a child, who exemplifies the qualities of a “do-gooder”, every week for the duration of the four-week competition.

Of these weekly regional winners, Toys R Us SA will announce the ultimate “TRUper” in December, who will stake claim to the grand prize of a Nintendo Switch.

“The competition recognises and rewards exceptional behaviour and deeds no matter how large or small these may be in a bid to emphasise the importance of being a good person,” say Nicole Annells, marketing manager, Toys R Us and Babies R Us South Africa.

“It encourages children to make a positive impact in their own little way while allowing their peers to recognise their fine qualities and actions. We are certain that this initiative will reinforce good behaviour in schools,” adds Annells.
