Popular radio personality, Sureshnie Rider, has joined forces with Toys R Us South Africa, in spreading Christmas Magic by unboxing the retailers top toy picks ahead of the festive season.

The fun-filled, interactive video clip, titled Sessions with Sush tells a magical story of toys in action, with an added mix of playfulness and humour.

Rider who is joined by her seven-year-old daughter, Pavani and the Toys R Us mascot, Geoffrey, is part of a burgeoning craze among millions of kids who are hooked on the phenomenon of "toy unboxing - where children and some adults are ruling the YouTube scene with their reviews of the latest playthings.

“It definitely brings out the child in me, and it’s really special to step back to my childhood and indulge without my mum telling me I had to do some chores first,” giggled Rider.

So together with her pre-schooler daughter, who she claims is an “expert toy specialist and tutorial viewer”, the pair have kicked off the Toys R Us Christmas Magic Campaign and will be sharing Geoffrey's top picks for boys and girls.

“We will unbox the latest and trendiest toys and also share insight into how they work and look and feel. When I was growing up, I had to circle my wish list on the catalogue, so I want this to be a 4 dimensional experience for kids and parents too. So you know what you're buying and also to experience all the latest offerings from Toys R Us,” said the popular 5FM breakfast host.

Fans can watch as their favourite toys s release each other from their packaging, while showcasing the unique features of these toys.

“This can be your private tour of what’s available, and also to finally see the toys your kids have been telling you about in so much more detail. I know not all mum's and dad's get the opportunity or time even to get familiar with their little one's favourites, and with the festive season already being a stress, this should shorten your trip to the store and make it easier to choose something special for that stocking.”

Rider, who has been a loyal Toys R Us fan for decades decided to partner with the retailer this year to ignite her playful youthful spirit.

“I love what they represent and I have always enjoyed the experience of browsing their aisles to find something special. Plus if you know me well, you know that I'm still a big kid at heart,” she said.

Marketing manager of Toys R Us and Babies R Us South Africa, Nicole Annells, said they were thrilled to engage with Rider adding that the videos displayed a “real” experience evoking the joy of opening a new toy.
